Maybe you are the one who’s changing the lives of those around you that you’re unaware of. This brings about an even bigger question to think about and consider. 1. Firefighter

Are you a firefighter who has risked his or her life to save others? If so, you are making a difference in someone’s life. I can pretty much guarantee this. How do I know this?

When a fire breaks out our human nature is to flee out of the burning building but firemen, they’re running into a fire risking the chance of not getting to see their family again to save someone they don’t even know.

How? When there’s trouble brewing in various forms you risk your lives protecting others. A police officer is willing to take a bullet for someone they don’t know.

Not only this, officers never know what to expect even if it’s something simple like serving a warrant or if they’re returning to their family at the end of their shift.

3. Military Personnel

Medical professionals help people in many areas of care and treatment. These men and women, spend hours upon hours, helping those who are sick, hurt, or in need of rescue.

5. Teacher

Teachers have a unique calling that can spot something special in others that others often overlook or don’t notice the ability someone has.

6. Passerby AKA Good Samaritan

You may be the friendly stranger, that offered a smile, right? So many people today are lonely and want to be acknowledged.

People in general, want to know someone cares. You just may have made someone else’s day who is struggling and your kindness got them through a tough day.

7. Server Or Waiter

Are you a waiter or waitress who lends a friendly ear at your favorite restaurant? If so, you are making a difference in someone’s life.

People want someone they can simply talk to without judgment. Quite often my husband and I will ask our server if there’s a way we can pray for them before our meal. You’d be surprised how that simple gesture can make a difference.

All of these listed are making a difference in someone’s life today, mine included. However, other than my family…Who has defined the person I am today?

Today, I want to share with you two specific people, (though they’re many more) that are “Making a Difference” in my life every day.

8. My Savior | Jesus Christ

First and most important is Jesus Christ! He has made the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE in my life! If it weren’t for God sacrificing His only begotten Son for ME I would have no hope.

No matter how many times “I mess upGod still loves me just as I am faults and all! Trust me, sweet friends, I fall short every single day! I give God countless reasons not to love me daily but he never stops, and never will!

God has always been by my side even when I turned my back on him he never once left me! Even when I blamed him for so many years during my abusive marriage. I thought he left me and didn’t love me!

I blamed God for not sending someone to help me out of that situation and looking back now I can see God was there protecting me in the shelter of his arms! Not only this, but God brought the perfect man into my life now and I’m so thankful for my husband, Mike!

Secondly, I was so mad at God when I lost my first grandchild. All I could say was “Why did you allow him, to be a part of our lives if you planned to snatch him away so soon?” I just thought God was cruel!

Now I realize God was there for me through the loss of our grandson. At the time, it sure didn’t feel that way! Tyler is still impacting lives today and I have the assurance that I will get to see him again one day!

Thirdly, I would be doomed to a devil’s Hell for ALL eternity if not for the sacrifice of the bloodshed on Calvary…FOR ME!

Jesus Christ took it upon himself to receive the punishment that should have been mine for no other reason than he loved me!

My Savior was doing his Father’s will for me! I know I don’t give God the time he deserves in prayer and reading the Bible as I know I should.

I get distracted and busy and focus on other things. Nevertheless, my Eternity is secure as a born-again believer of Jesus Christ because I put my faith and trust in him alone! That can NOT be taken from me!

9. Cancer Patients

I’m a Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant at an oncology office. My patients tell me how much I make the process easier for them and they feel God’s peace and presence when they come in my lab bay.

This is the biggest compliment, I can ever receive!

My job is so rewarding but it can also be emotionally draining sometimes. I get so attached and it’s hard especially when they don’t make it because it’s like losing a piece of yourself and a family member! Last week was a rough one.

I have had several patients with cancer say I don’t want this anymore! I’m tired of the side effects of chemotherapy and  I do not want to spend the remainder of my life feeling this way!

Talking about hard! You try to listen to that without tears pouring down your face. You have to remain strong for them and the family but at the same time, I can understand where they’re coming from.

Some lose their battle with cancer but they leave a powerful legacy behind.

If I were told tomorrow Angie you have cancer and we need to start treatment I’m afraid I would say no! My family knows that would be my decision and I wouldn’t want treatment for myself.

I know how it would be regarding my immune system.

HOWEVER, NOTHING PREPARES YOU WHEN A PATIENT TELLS YOU GOODBYE IN “THEIR WAY.”

That happened last week when a patient said, Angie, “I’m done!” “The Dr has done everything they could do and nothing has worked and it keeps getting larger and stronger so we’re stopping the treatment!”

This patient was in so much pain and their spouse said it was because he had spent too much time working in their woodshop.

I looked at him and said, “You know better than that!” He replied, “I had to get what I’m working on finished for my grandchildren and I’m afraid I won’t get it done in time!”

I about lost it right then and there. Then he went on to say how much of an impact I have made on his life and how very much he loved me and told me that my husband was one very lucky man to have me as his wife.

He stood and hugged me and said: “Angie I Love you and I want you to know that!” After I took them to his room I was in tears because It tore me up.

What’s sad is they weren’t the only ones last week. Countless patients shared stories that shook me to my core and it changed how I view my circumstances and the life I live currently!

My point is this although they tell me daily that I “Make a Difference” in their lives they’ve got it all wrong. The patients make a difference, in my life!!
